These are some pictures I took in either June or July 97. Erik Pytlak, myself, and a forecaster from Oklahoma (I forget the name) went to Nebraska to try and photograph some tornadoes predicted there.

Well, to make a long story short, the system moved slower than expected, and we couldn't get to it before dark. But on our way back we stopped and took some nice pictures from an electrical storm 6 miles west of West Des Moines.

These photos were taken with 400 ASA film. F-stop between 4 and 5.6. Exposures times were usually around 15 seconds.

I would really like to find out why some of the lightning turned out with red hues, while other strokes were white in color.
